"My name is Ashley Roberts, and I am in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program.

“My goal as a nurse is to continue to be impactful to my patients. The best part of nursing is the diversity. There's always an option to do something else and help others. There's a wide range of options out there for us.

“I chose Rockhurst because they have a great reputation in the community. I’ve heard so many positive things about Rockhurst. It was good to be a part of that.

“The faculty is fantastic. They respond very quickly. They're very passionate about what they do. You can tell that they enjoy being nurse practitioners. They want us to be successful, and it shows.

“I enjoy the online courses because working full time it allows me to to complete the program. It's accessible anytime you need it. It just works with a busy lifestyle.

“The immersion has been great so far. It's good to put faces to names and to meet some other students. It's been great and I'm excited to do the simulations and wound closure and all of the different skills that we get to learn.

“Everything about the program has been positive. It is a challenge, which I enjoy. If you're considering going back to school or starting this program, I would just say do it. I hope to inspire others and change even their world and help impact their health.”
